This year the Carroll County Equestrian Council celebrated our 29th year of National Trails Day. We hosted Maryland’s first National Trails Day event in 1993, only the second year of this national initiative of the American Hiking Society
That year we were the only equestrian organization that participated in the traditionally hiker/biker event and were chosen as one of 10 winners of the National Trails for Tomorrow contest. The Council plans to hold a commemorative celebration in 2023, our 30th year of celebrating National Trails Day.
